We request that rooms be vacated by 11h00 on the morning of departure. This will enable us to prepare rooms for incoming guests. In the event of guests departing by any means other than own transport, you will be advised of your departure time on the morning of departure. Should you wish to know sooner, please feel free to ask.

Please notify your camp manager or ranger immediately if you require professional medical attention. In the event of a medical crisis we have staff trained in basic first aid and are also linked to MRI (Medical Rescue International) who assist with emergency evacuations and airlifts. Having your medical insurance details on hand will increase the efficiency of the above-mentioned emergency services.

 

All major credit cards and travellers cheques are accepted. Personal cheques will only be accepted by prior arrangement.

 

At Makalali all our guest camps are unfenced. This does not restrict the movement or natural behaviour of the animals.

It is therefore very important that guests are always escorted by our security guards or rangers at night. They are trained to handle dangerous situations. To ensure our guests safety you will be met at your vehicle after your evening game viewing activity and will also be escorted to and from dinner.A security guard monitors each camp all night long and can be summoned by either utilising the telephone or whistle in your room. During daylight hours you are free to walk unescorted on the pathways provided in camp. Should you wish to explore your surroundings beyond these pathways, please arranged a guided walk with the camp manager or rangers.
